How to buy ASHP

Replacing an oil/gas boiler with an air source heat pump requires about the same level of decision making as required for buying any other kind of heating system.

One major difference is the aim of the air source heat pump is to not only remove the need for oil and gas supplies; it is to cut the amount of energy used.

As we run, out of our own supplies of gas and oil in Britain, turning to costly imports. It would have made sense to insulate our homes and for engineers to specify the minimum amount of energy use necessary – from the day we discovered oil in the North Sea.

However, we cannot change the present and specifying the right model of heat pump for your property and accurately calculating the heat loss requirements is now crucial to determine the amount of heat you need to be comfortable in your home.

Therefore, the very first thing you will need to do when buying a heat pump system is to have a heating survey. Some companies charge up to £500 for the survey and will offset this cost against the total price if you place an order with them. ACS Renewable Solutions do not charge for the survey and see this as completely necessary to make sure the correct sized system if quoted.

Once we have completed the survey, our heating engineer will produce a detailed report delivered by email and in the post to the customer with our recommendations and costs.

Once a decision has been taken to place an order we next arrange a pre-installation survey when a final meeting is held introducing the installation engineer who will carry out the work.

Our installation engineers are not contractors, all trained, and fully employed by ACS. We carry full public and employee liability insurance and conform to all of the heating industry trade and Local Government planning regulations.  The engineers are respectful at all times to our customers and carry cleaning equipment to make sure they leave nothing behind.

We do ask for a deposit before starting work however, the balance of the invoice is only due for payment once all of the work has been completed and the customer is completely satisfied.
