RHIPP £850 apply now

As of August 1st, there is a government pot of £15 million to help people install air source heat pumps and a host of other renewable technologies.

The aim of the scheme is to help as many as 25,000 energy efficiency installations over the next year.

This is seen as an important step towards the long-term aim to make residential heating that doesn’t rely on fossil fuel as commonplace as the kinds we use now.

Half the UK’s carbon emissions come from the energy we use to generate heat – and with the carbon emission reduction target just increased, it’s more important than ever to cut that figure right back.

The RHPP is a forerunner to the Renewable Heat Incentive for householders. The RHI is due to start in October 2012, alongside the Green Deal programme, which will revolutionise the way home energy efficiency is financed.

People who have installed an air to water heat pump under the Premium Payments are likely to be eligible for  ongoing support through the RHI, as will anybody who has installed eligible equipment since 15th July 2009.

From 1st August, the following grants will be available:

  • Air source heat pump – £850 grant (for homes without mains gas heating)
  • Ground Source Heat Pump – £1250 grant (for homes without mains gas heating)
  • Biomass boiler – £950 grant (for homes without mains gas heating)
  • Solar thermal hot water panels – £300 grant (available to all households regardless of the type of heating system used)

The scheme will be administered by the Energy Saving Trust.

You can register your details here and apply for the £850 voucher.

Its important to do this as soon as possible since it is a limited fund of £15 million (£3 million is being reserved for social housing)

It will be made available on a first come, first served basis and the Energy saving Trust advice you register as soon as possible.

One of the key conditions of this scheme is that you use a registered MCS installer such as ACS Renewable Solutions Ltd.

ACS is members listed on the Microgeneration register as an approved heat pump and solar pv installer. We are also members of REAL a scheme set up by the Government setting standards for deposits and general operating standards.

Customers are advised to speak with ACS before making a commitment to buy an air source heat pump system or solar pv.

The Energy Saving Trust recommends you have two or three quotes from different installers before committing to a decision.

Please remember you do not have to make a buying decision on the first visit by a salesman – and under no circumstances should you part with any money until you have had a written proposal showing all of the costs.

Under the REAL scheme you should not pay any money more than 60 days before the installation date.

When you are given a quote remember to check that it includes ALL of the work including plumbing, electrics and commissioning by an MCS registered installer.

If you are in any doubt please call 01327 810 513. We will be pleased to offer free advice and will tell you honestly if we do not think your home is suitable for this technology.

ACS Group have over 2,000 customers using air source heat pump systems and we are possibly one of leading installers of air to water heat pumps in the UK. We only partner with the leading global manufacturers of heat pumps, Mitsubishi Electric Panasonic and Daikin.
